How to Create Purchase Order
When it comes to ordering items from other vendors, a purchase order is essential.
In SeeBiz Inventory, you can create a purchase order within a few clicks. Let’s explore how.
Accessing Purchase Order Creation
There are multiple ways to access the purchase order creation page.
Method 1: Go to the Item Navigation Sidebar and select “Purchase Orders”. If you are creating your first purchase order, click on the “Create Purchase Order” button.
Method 2: Click on the “+” icon next to the “Purchase Orders” tab.
Method 3: Click on the “+New” button on the top right corner of the purchase order window.
Purchase Order Creation
Here, you’ll need to fill out all the important details regarding a purchase order creation.
- Select the vendor.
- The system will automatically create an unchangeable purchase order number.
- Enter the date on which the purchase order is created.
- Enter the date on which the items are expected to be delivered.
- You can enter any reference to a purchase requisition, RFQ, quotation, another purchase order, contract, sales order, etc.
- Select the warehouse in which the order will be stored.
- Click on the “Yes” option if you want to add any terms and conditions.
- Select items that need to be restocked. Multiple items can be added to the list by clicking on the “+Add Another Item” button after adding the first item.
- Select the purchase account.
- Enter item quantity.
- Enter item price.
- Select any applicable item tax.
- Here, you can view how much an item will cost.
- And here, you can see the subtotal of all items.
- Add any discount provided by the vendor.
- Enter any adjustments to your purchase order to round off the total value.
- The grand total of the payable amount to the vendor will be shown here.
- Click on the “Save as Draft” button to finish creating a purchase order and save it as a draft. You can also click on the arrow to:
- Save and issue the purchase order.
- Or, save and send the purchase order.
Suggestion: Fields marked with the “*” symbols are mandatory, while the rest can be skipped for now.
